What I.S. 230 could lose
- Arts & Literacy programming
Guaranteed vs. still unknown
DYCD publicly promised free, safe, and enriching programs — but did not provide school-specific continuity details.
DYCD says
- • Programs will remain free
- • Programming will be safe and enriching
- • Providers will create transition plans
- • Schools will work with incoming providers
- • Principal input was considered
Families still do not know
- • Which activities will continue
- • Which staff will remain
- • Whether those plans exist now
- • Whether sports, theater, and leagues are funded
- • Why preferences were overridden
On the record
Parent reported2026-06-22
“Parents set up a Change.org petition and we have written letters as we fiercely oppose the change in providers. The school principal has supported us and has also said he does not approve of the changes and is trying to fight them. We are not taking this silently and we are very unhappy.”
